SpiderOak will not back up shortcuts, aliases, symbolic links ('symlinks'), or placeholders for files that are located elsewhere on your system. These files will be 'greyed out' and cannot be selected in the Backup tab.
SpiderOak will also not backup temporary files or swap files.
