Beginning with version 6.0, the full paths and executable names of SpiderOak have changed. Because of these changes, we recommend that when you upgrade from a previous version to SpiderOakONE 6.0 or later you do so in the following manner:
-
Uninstall the version of SpiderOak you are now running, using your operating system's usual means.
-
On Windows, reboot. On Mac and Linux, log out of your computer's user account, then log back in.
-
Download the latest version of SpiderOakONE.
-
Install the new version of SpiderOakONE, using your operating system's usual means.
To reiterate, the above method is only needed the one time that you upgrade from SpiderOak 5.2 or earlier to SpiderOakONE 6.0 or later. Subsequent upgrades can be done normally by simply installing the SpiderOakONE installer in the usual means.
