Conversations about life & privacy in the digital age

Why Privacy Matters

Why does privacy matter?

To begin breaking down the subject of privacy, we created an explainer, recently published in IT Briefcase, to answer the following questions:

  • What is the difference between privacy and security?
  • Should you care about privacy if you have nothing to hide?
  • What does privacy mean in the digital age?

Thank you, for this it's much simpler to have some one read this than explaining till im blue in the face.

Wow… Not only does the "Explainer" completely fail to work in Opera, it is replaced with an advertisement for Google Chrome. This is rather ironic considering the data accumulation & usage practices of Google and its Chrome browser!

@Stuart W. – I really appreciate you pointing this out. Unfortunately, it's not something we accounted for when creating the explainer. Newsbound has historically only seen about 0.4% of readers using Opera. However, I realize we likely have a much larger Opera community. I'm sorry this isn't supported at this time. I've also asked them to change the language on the rejection notice as I can fully appreciate the irony. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know of your experience.

Thanks @Chip! We have another one coming soon: The Fine Print of Privacy Polices.

Wish I could watch this on Opera! I’m not bothering installing another browser just to watch this. I use spideroak for a reason
