Why is SpiderOak granting this license?
SpiderOak, Inc., makes certain source code files and related assets available to the public in order to allow and encourage cryptography and security audits of that source code and products built on that source code. This license governs the public's use of those source code files and related assets.
What license are you granted?
SpiderOak grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, under all of SpiderOak’s copyright and patent rights, to use, reproduce, modify, and otherwise exploit the source code files and related assets for the sole purpose of auditing the cryptography or other security features of SpiderOak’s software, and to redistribute unmodified source code in either source code or executable form for using services provided by SpiderOak. Any use or redistribution of the source code for any other reason is a violation of the conditions of this license.
If you redistribute the files, it is a condition of this license that you may not remove or alter any license notices in the software, including copyright notices, patent notices, disclaimers of warranty, or limitations of liability.
If you are a SpiderOak customer, other terms may apply.
What licenses are not granted?
This license does not grant you any rights in the trademarks, service marks, brand names, or logos of SpiderOak.
What happens if you violate the terms of this license?
If you violate any of the terms or conditions of this license, all rights granted to you by this license are immediately terminated, and may be reinstated only with the explicit written consent of SpiderOak.
What disclaimers does SpiderOak make about the source code made available under this license?
The source code is provided to you on an “as is” basis, without warranty of any kind, either expressed, implied, or statutory, including, without limitation, warranties that the source code is free of defects, merchantable, fit for a particular purpose, or non-infringing.
If there is a dispute about this license, what jurisdiction will govern any related litigation?
By using, reproducing, or modifying the source code files and related assets, you expressly consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and agree that venue of any litigation relating to the license will lie in those courts.
When can SpiderOak modify this license?
