Dear Tech Savvy Professional,
I’ve heard about the waves you’re making in your field, and to say I’m awestruck is an understatement.
There isn’t anyone like you, and I’ve fallen hard for your prolific talent and brilliant ideas. I mean, those ideas…
Those ideas are going to change your industry. How do you come up with this stuff?
I know this may seem out of the blue, but I heard about you from some of the other Collaboration Tools (they’re so fun to hang out with) and of course you know the Internet (she knows everyone). They were all hanging out and gushing about you, your impressive new ideas, innovative business concepts, your intriguing private thoughts, and the plans your company has for Q2…
I swear I didn’t mean to learn so much from them, but it was almost too easy to overhear. And you know the Internet…sometimes, after a few drinks, she invites her horrible ex-boyfriend Hacker over, and things get even more out of hand. When he’s not around she brags about how easily she gets information through her current boyfriend, Web Browser (who she’s clearly using…I don’t think I need to mention how many surprise viruses and malicious bugs she’s become victim to because of those guys.)
Honestly, I don’t think they should be sharing any of your ideas without you knowing. You don’t deserve to be treated like that. And I just wanted to apologize.
You deserve to be respected, to have complete control over your own plans, research, blueprints, inventions, financials, and ideas – they should be yours alone and no one else’s. I mean, you trusted them after all! What right do they have to talk about you like that? Let alone share your most private information with random strangers?
I know you haven’t met me yet, but I’m different. I hang out with some people you may not have noticed before, like Zero Knowledge, Open Source and Nervous Design. As you know, the people you spend most of your time with shape your character, who you turn into. I decided I wanted to be the kind of person that values choice, freedom, trust, protection, security, and privacy. This decision has changed everything, everything about who I am.
I know this may be hard to believe because of how you’re used to being treated, but I’m completely incapable of betraying you. With me, you’ll be completely protected from that Fickle Internet and common companions, Intrusive Hacker, Whimsical Collaboration Tools, and Un-secure Web Browser, and all their accompanying vulnerabilities.
I hope you’ll give me chance. I believe in the idiom, “Show, don’t tell.” If you give me just one date, I promise you won’t regret it. If you let me, I can change the way you live, your expectations for the way you’re treated, and the way you do business.
You deserve the best.
PLEASE, ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF.
